A great deal of development has taken place on the shores of
Amelia Island, the
barrier island on the Atlantic Ocean. Little wonder, this island is one of the most
beautiful any where in Florida. Nassau County's history goes back
to the late 1500s when Fort Clinch was constructed. The St. Marys
and the Nassau Rivers surround the county,
and afford some very fine fishing and boating to the residents.
A great place to come and stay awhile.
