The Apalachicola National Forest is the biggest land owner in Wakulla County, and what great neighbor to have. Beautiful forest and wildlife every where. Wakulla County also boast of having the world largest spring basins. These springs form the head waters of the Wakulla River and in spots run to a depth of 250 feet, with the waters so clear that one can see great details on the bottom. Although the county is very heavily wooded, it has a shoreline on the Gulf of Mexico and the boating and fishing are outstanding. Peace and quiet are key words. Peace and relaxation is a major occupation.
